Poladroid is a free and light-weight application which allows you to turn your snaps or photos into Polaroid style photos.

When you start a Poladroid application, it loads on your desktop. All you need to do is to drag and drop pictures to the Polaroid, it will start the processing automatically. A rotating dotted circle shows the image file is processing. At the initial stage the Polaroid image is darker and it becomes brighter as the time goes. When it finishes the processing, a cross mark is added to the Polaroid image and it makes a beep sound. It will take a minute or two to complete the process.

Talon is a Firefox Add-on developed by Aviary which allows you to screen capture inside Firefox and also edit the captured image online using Falcon Image Markup. Using this add-on, users can quickly capture the selected region or entire web page, save captured images to desktop or even edit the captured image directly in Aviary’s applications.

Once installed, it provides an option in the right click menu as well as on the tool bar. You can take a screen shot of the page or a region and if you are logged into the online account of Aviary, you can even edit the captured image. You can also save the captured images to desktop.

In addition, this add-on also provides another option to directly edit background images or any images on webpage with Falcon online image editor.

It will open Falcon Image Editor and you can do some basic image editing with this editor.

There are several add-ons for Firefox which allow you to take screenshots but the Aviary extension is super easy and best of all you can directly edit the image and save it to your desktop.

PicPick is a free utility for screen capturing which offers an integrated image editor and various small tools such as color picker, pixel ruler, protractor, crosshair, whiteboard, etc. You can use all these tools freely.

There are many free screen capture programs are available, most of these offer the basic functionality. But the five different aspects of the PicPick program make it quite interesting and noteworthy, as follows:

1. Versatile screen capture options
2. Auto-scroll capture (for, say, websites or documents that scroll beyond the visible section of the screen).
3. Built-in integrated image editor
4. Interesting mini-tools: color picker, pixel ruler, protractor, crosshair, and whiteboard.
5. A portable version is available.

It supports user-defined keyboard shortcuts, dual monitors, including or excluding cursor in the captured image, and a number of image format outputs (JPG, BMP, GIF and PNG).

It is compatible with all versions of Windows operating system. I tested it on Windows 7 and it runs nicely.
