14 November 2009One Comment

If you have a personal computer and you are using Windows 7, probably you haven’t assigned a password for your user account. When you start a computer, the boot process will stop at the welcome screen and you need to hit enter or click on your user account picture to see the desktop.

If you want to skip the welcome screen/login screen, refer the following procedure:

How to skip Windows 7 welcome/login screen?

  1. Type netplwiz in Start menu search box and hit enter.
  2. Under User Accounts dialog box, uncheck the box named Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer. clip_image002
  3. Click Apply button to see Automatically Log On dialog box. If you have a password for your user account, simply enter the password and click ok. If you don’t have a password for your account, simply click Ok. clip_image004
  4. Restart your computer to see the changes.
