Change Dolby Digital Settings in Windows 7 Media Player

Dolby Digital Settings is a new feature in Windows 7 Media Player. It is used for enhancing sound effects if you are watching the Dolby digital content in windows media player.

There are three modes available in the Dolby digital settings of Windows 7 media player.

  1. Normal - Reduces the audio range of all Dolby Digital content for a quieter listening experience.
  2. Night - Reduces the audio range of all Dolby Digital content and increases dialogue for a quieter listening experience optimized for laptops.
  3. Theatre - Increases the dynamic range of all Dolby Digital content for a full listening experience.

Refer the following steps to change the Dolby digital settings:

  1. Run Windows Media Player. If you are in library mode please switch to now playing mode.
  2. Right click on the bottom pane, and then navigate to Enhancements > Dolby Digital Settings
  3. Under Dolby Digital settings, select the right mode and close the dialog box.
