Today Microsoft has announced a major partnership with Sky. Sky player is a Sky’s online TV service, will be available to users of Windows 7 Media Center. Sky previously announced the same service will be available on Xbox 360 later this month but have now confirmed this will now be available to Windows 7 Media Center users too.
Sky Player will allow current subscribers to view live streamed channels and on demand television through their PC although the download service is not in place as yet.
Existing Sky TV customers will be able to purchase an online Sky Player multiroom subscription for £5 per month. Customers with Sky Multiroom or Sky Broadband Unlimited will be able to access live channels for no extra charge.
Non-Sky TV customers will require a monthly subscription that starts at £15 per month to the Base Entertainment Pack. In addition to the live channels, customers will also have access to on-demand programs from channels they subscribe to.

Windows Live Planet is a Microsoft India’s new social networking site. It allows you to connect with your friends or even chat to your friends online, make new friends and connect with them instantly. Windows Live Planet is similar to most of the other social networks, but is totally different in design and User Interface.
The details about the site like when it was launched are not available at this time but it is linked from MSN India page.
You can connect to Windows Live Planet with your windows live ID or Hotmail ID. You can invite your friends from other social networks such as Facebook, My Space, LinkedIn, Hi5,etc. Also you could search for friends using various criteria and add them to your network.
There is a feature called Scribble Pad which is very similar to Scrap book feature in Orkut. You can scribble your friends and each scribble can be up to 150 characters in length.
Windows Live Planet is not only specific to India, you can register from anywhere. It is not clear when they launched it in India and couldn’t find any source related to that.

Streamfile is an online service which allows you to share large files with someone and allows them to download it when you start your upload. It saves up to 90% of time saving as compared to traditional server-to-client transfer.
With Streamfile, sharing is vary easy. You don’t have to download and install any third-party software, but instead all transfers are done through your browser. Files can be up to 2 GB in size, and can be sent to multiple people at one time. Without registering, it allows you to share files up to 150 MB in size. If you want to share files larger than 150 MB, registration is required.
All you need to do is to just pick a file that you want to transfer to your friend (up to 2 GB in size) and the service will spit out two URLs for you to send either on your own or via e-mail. One is a generic URL, while the other is secured with AES 256-bit SSL encryption. Whomever clicks that link will begin downloading the file in their browser’s download manager as the uploader on your site seeds the file onto a temporary spot on its servers. Even before you have managed to finish uploading your recipient can begin their download. It’s awesome….
In Streamfile, transfers are done in a streaming sort of way, so that while you are uploading the file, the people you are sharing it with can start downloading it straight away. The speed in upload and download is also impressive. Links to the file are only available for 24 hours so that the speed of transfers can be maintained. It is more useful for some occasions when you want someone to access the file straight away. There is also an option of 256-bit encryption so that your file is secure in transfer.

Google has increased the maximum size supported for Gmail attachment from 20 MB to 25 MB. It is a very good news for Gmail users and it is useful if you often transfer large files between your family and friends.
Google blog reported that Gmail users can send and receive messages up to 25 megabytes (MB) in size. Note that you may not be able to send larger attachments to contacts who use other email services with smaller attachment limits. If your attachment bounces, you should invite them for Gmail account.

Go to C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc folder.

Find the file named as hosts and open it in notepad [For Linux users, this file is located in the /etc/ directory. you could run a sudo nano /etc/hosts/ to edit the file].

Under the line that says 127.0.0.1 localhost, add a new entry 127.0.0.2 <website to be blocked> and save the file.

For example, if you want to block “www.santabanta.com” website, then add an entry like this: 127.0.0.2 www.santabanta.com

For every website that you want to be blocked, just add “1” to the last number in the internal ip (127.0.0.2) followed by the web address to be blocked, as shown below:
127.0.0.3 website0
127.0.0.4 website1
127.0.0.5 website2
.. 127.0.0.33 website33 …. and so on.
I tested this procedure to block www.google.com website from my windows 7 operating system and it works. After adding entry for blocking Google website, my Firefox and IE browser shows a page like below:
